What is Community Media Canada?
Community Media Canada (CMC) is the advertising and promotional arm of the Canadian community newspaper industry. The industry is vibrant, profitable and large—over 1,100 newspapers circulate over 17 million copies per week. We have publications in every single province and territory, serving communities ranging from remote areas in the territories to downtown urban centres in Canada’s largest cities.
The CMC membership is comprised of member publications of the regional associations that are in federation with the Canadian Community Newspapers Association.
Our newspapers meet stringent acceptance standards including such things as circulation audits, advertising-to-editorial ratios, community content and editorial pages.
We acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada through the Department of Canadian Heritage.
